Appointments

Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine appointments

We offer routine advance appointments with all our doctors, up to 6 weeks in advance (subject to availability).

To request a routine appointment in the next 7 days:

We now have a selection of nurses appointments that are bookable online. These appointments are by invitation only. If you book in and have not been asked to make an appointment you will, unfortunately be turned away.

Urgent Care Clinic

Should you feel that you need to be seen TODAY, please telephone us before midday and ask the receptionist to inform the urgent care clinic.

Please give them your contact details and some information about your condition, as they will ensure that you are contacted by a clinician, preferably within 3 hours of initial contact. You will be asked to keep close to your phone.

If the clinician feels you should be seen today, then they will invite you to come to the surgery at a specific time. As these are emergency appointments please expect delays.

We also offer telephone consultation appointments whereby the doctor can call you either in the morning or the afternoon as agreed by the urgent care team.

The telephone lines are busiest between 8.00 and 10.00am.

**Dr Heseltine is currently off on maternity leave.

Evening and weekend access to GP appointments

GP appointments are now available during the evening and at the weekend for people registered with a GP in Horsham and Mid Sussex.

This means that both routine and urgent appointments are available at a local hub during weekday evenings and on a Saturday and Sunday, to make sure that local people get the health help and support they need.

NHS Sussex ICB, working in partnership with local patients and clinicians, designed the service. The appointment hubs are run by Alliance for Better Care Ltd, the local GP Federation.

How to book an evening or weekend appointment at the hub:

Appointments can be booked through your own GP practice in the normal way, during normal opening hours.

Clinicians working at the hubs will be able to access your medical records with your agreement. You will be asked before any information is shared and can decline if you wish.

Your help to design this new service

In preparation for this additional, improved access to GP care, we sought the views and experiences of local patients and the public through a survey. The results can be found here:

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home Visits

Home visits are for patients who are too ill to come to the surgery or housebound.

If you feel that you do need a home visit, please telephone the surgery before 10.30am on the day the visit is required. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible so that the doctor can give your request priority. Please tell the receptionist if you feel the visit is urgent.

Lack of transport is not a valid reason to request a home visit. Always come to the surgery if you can, so that your doctor has access to our full range of medical facilities. Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit.

Telephone Advice

Some problems can be sorted out over the telephone. You can book a telephone consultation with any of the doctors and do not need to give a reason for the appointment. Please note that a time slot will be allocated but the doctors make the calls after their morning clinics around lunch time.

Reception staff have to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. If you do not answer we will not leave a message unless given permission to do so by the patient.
