Advanced Paramedic Practitioner 

Nick is an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner who holds a prescribing qualification and works in our Urgent Care Clinic to assist patients with acute problems. Nick also works for SECAMB on the days he’s not at Newtons.

Louise is a Paramedic Practitioner and helps run our daily Urgent Care Clinic.  She also works for SECAMB and enjoys the mix of roles.

Karen is the Assistant Practice Manager and works closely with the Practice Manager Julia to help make sure that Newtons runs as smoothly as possible.

Susan is the practice’s Care-Coordinator. she is responsible for liaising with patients and their families as well as the community nursing staff to ensure patients stay out of hospital with the assistance of more help from local care teams.

Reception Manager

Nicola is our Reception Manager and she manages our team of trained reception staff. Do remember that they may need to ask you questions to judge the urgency of any medical matter, the information you give will always be treated in confidence.

Ms Denise Ward

Reception Supervisor

Denise Ward is our experienced Reception Supervisor.  She works with the practice management team to ensure the smooth running of the reception office.

The Reception team provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide  information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, patient records and carrying out practice audits.

Mrs Gosia Grant

Senior Clinical Pharmacist

Gosia is Newton’s Practice’s Senior Clinical Pharmacist and will consult with patients to offer them advice regarding their medications.

Community Midwives

The team will share both your antenatal and postnatal care with your doctor.

Community Nurses

The community nurses care for those unable to attend the surgery who need dressings, injections and other specific treatments.

They also aim to provide health promotion, health education and advice and support to all patients and their carers.

Health Visitors

Health visitors are primarily involved in the promotion of good health, health education advice and support, and the prevention and detection of ill health.

They advise on matters relating to family and child health and also assess children’s development, undertake parentcraft teaching and health education work with the middle-aged and elderly.

Physiotherapist

Primary Care Network* (PCN) Staff:
You can now see a specialist Physiotherapist at you GP surgery without seeing your GP first. Grant is a qualified Physiotherapist working in the practice on a Thursday each week to help patients with musculoskeletal problems.  He will be able to take an assessment from you and help you with any appropriate treatment or suggest you are referred to see a MSK consultant if necessary. Your appointment may be via telephone, video or face-to-face.  Please book a consultation with Grant via the Reception team.

*A Primary Care Network is a group of practices working together to share resources and work collaboratively on shared local initiatives. The practices in our Primary Care Network are: Newtons, Dolphins and Northlands Wood.

Social Prescriber

Penny is our Social Prescriber, she can help patients with all non-clinical services for any social and welfare concerns.

Caroline is our Pharmacy Technician working alongside our Senior Clinical Pharmacist and Doctors.  She can help patients with queries they have regarding their medication.
