Your hospital appointment/treatment
Once a referral has been sent by your GP, you will be under the care of the relevant hospital. Any issues or queries should be raised directly with the hospital in question.  The Doctors at Newtons Practice are aware that the waiting times for outpatients is very high in the Mid Sussex area.

* Suspected cancer referrals will be managed within the 2 weeks timescale.

Some outpatient first appointments for Digestive Diseases, oral and spinal surgery are in excess of 18 weeks. The Local CCG are working with Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals to reduce the waiting list.  Please use the link to see how long waiting times are with the local hospitals as of March 29th 2016. We have been provided with this list and want to share it with yourselves.

Please avoid contacting us about your referral in the first instance, as it takes up vital time on the phones which we want to give to patients who want immediate medical treatment. Our secretaries are constantly trying to get through to outpatients themselves, chasing appointments when they would prefer to be typing the referrals for the Doctors as quickly as possible.
